Barnstorming Nice

Four stars. (★★★★)

I'm a ambivalent on this rating. The privilege of exploring an architecturally charming old European city should be worth at least four stars. But it was dang hot, hazy, and humid in Nice; I showered three times yesterday. The walk-about, Barb style of sight-seeing can easily be done in four or five hours - including a stroll along the beach, hike up to the overlook at Colline du Château, the flower market, old city, Chagall museum - plus a medium amount of shopping and bench-sitting. I took another walk this morning before the baking heat set in, mostly covering the same ground as yesterday. As a jetlag buffer ahead of a long conference in Cannes, a couple of days in Nice is... Nice.
